Stephen Weinstein, Esq. - President
Stephen S. ("Skippy") Weinstein has devoted his law practice for the past 50 years to pursuing the claims of the injured, their families, and the criminally accused. In recognition of his achievements Skippy has been selected for inclusion in New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine, 2005-present and appeared on the magazine’s cover in 2006. Skippy has lectured in numerous venues and is the author of a wide array of articles on personal injury and criminal law. In addition to his family and the law, Skippy’s love is for horses and he rides extensively. He lives in New Vernon with his wife Nancy (a retired hospice nurse) and he has four married children and eight grandchildren.

Laurie L. Newmark, Esq. - Vice President
Laurie L. Newmark has been an attorney sine 1998 handling all aspects of family law including divorce, custody, domestic violence and mediation in New Jersey. Laurie also represents parents in actions involving DCP& P, and has experience with cases involving allegations of abuse and neglect. Laurie is certified as a matrimonial attorney by the Supreme Court of NJ. She was included in the New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star from 2006 to 2013 and on the Super Lawyers list in 2015 and 2014. Laurie lives in Randolph with her husband and children.

Francis J. Mertz - Treasurer
Francis (Frank) J. Mertz is President Emeritus of Fairleigh Dickinson University. A graduate of Saint Peter’s University and New York University School of Law, Frank spent over forty years of leadership in higher education institutions and organizations in New Jersey. This May he was sworn in by the Court as a CASA volunteer. Frank and his wife, Gail, reside in Morris Township, and are the parents of six children and grandparents of nine.

Michelle Beatty, Esq. - Secretary
Michelle Beatty is an associate with Morris, Downing & Sherred, LLP in Newton, New Jersey. She graduated from the Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2007, magna cum laude. Michelle joined the Board in 2012. Michelle lives in Sussex County with her husband and 2 children.

Mindy Beck - Trustee
Mindy Beck joined the Board of Trustees in 2014; however, she has been involved with our organization since its inception. It was in Mindy’s home that the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) voted to start a CASA chapter in Morris County back in 1986.  Mindy was a CASA volunteer serving 10 children.  She is a long time member of Adath Shalom Synagogue where she has served as past Vice President of Membership, and past Sisterhood President.  Mindy is a Senior Vice President-Investment Officer at Wells Fargo Advisors in Florham Park.  She was our organization’s honoree at our 2014 Gala.

Jeanne Bratsafolis - Trustee
Jeanne Bratsafolis was a high school teacher before graduating from Rutgers University School of Law. She has been a corporate attorney for the last 29 years and most recently held the position of Group Vice President - Legal for Wyndham Exchange & Rentals. Jeanne lives in Morristown with her husband, Todd Poland, and between them they have five grown children and six grandchildren. Jeanne joined the Board in July 2011.

Marian Levinsohn - Trustee
Marian Levinsohn is a Psycho-Therapist in Manhattan with a private practice working with Families,Children and Individual Adults. She received a B.A. Degree from Hobart and William Smith College, Phi Beta Kappa, and a M.A. Degree in Psychology from New York University. She has been involved with both the profit and non-profit sectors for the past forty years. Marian has served on the board of Kids Corporation in Newark, has had numerous volunteer positions in the Newark School System, and was a former volunteer for Casa. She is currently living in Morristown with her husband Ronald.

Diana Manning, Esq. - Trustee
Diana Manning is a principal of the law firm Bressler, Amery, & Ross, P.C. For over 25 years, she has represented clients in complex commercial litigation matters. Diana is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney, and is an accomplished litigator who handles a broad range of matters. Diana is also a skilled appellate practitioner, with experience appearing before the New Jersey Supreme Court. Diana lectures and writes on topical issues, including ethics. She has been appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as Chair of the District XA Ethics Committee. She is also a Past President of Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, the Morris County Bar Association, and the Morris County Bar Foundation. Diana lives in Bergen County with her husband Frank Viscomi.

Deborah Puskas - Trustee
A graduate of Seton Hall University in Elementary and Special Education, Deborah began her career working with severely emotionally disturbed and/or neurologically impaired students at Mount Carmel Guild in Newark and Bergen Center for Child Development. She recently retired after teaching 39 years from the Sussex Wantage school system. While there, Deborah completed her master’s degree in Teaching, developed an all day kindergarten program, served on the I&RS committee, mentored student teachers, and was awarded teacher of the year. Deborah currently resides in Wantage with her husband Michael, a retired federal special agent who currently works at the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office as a detective in major crimes. Both of their adult children and grandchild also reside in Sussex County.
